The Melbourne Comedy Law Revue is annual show that showcases the best in
student
comedy talent and donates all its funds, every year, to a specific
charity. The Law
Revue has a long and illustrious history including such graduates as Steve
Vizard,
Magda Szubanski and the entire Working Dog crew.
What is a revue?
Well it's a traditional theatre performance that incorporates sketch
comedy, dance
and music in which recent affairs and popular culture is lampooned,
parodied or
scrutinised. It's all here combined with a mixing of contemporary media,
namely
video sketches.
The show is organised, written and performed entirely by students with
financial
help from the Law Students Society and aims to showcase the brightest and
best in
fresh talent and cutting edge comedy in a comfortable, casual yet exciting
live
setting.
When is the Revue?
This year the revue will be held at 6,7,9 and 14, 15 and 16th August 2008.
The show is held at the Grand Central Club, 293 Swan St (cnr Coppin St),
Richmond. There will be loads of laughs, fun and drink specials galore!
