We all live, work and play in the environment. The environment doesn't just consist of national parks and oceans. As your 2012 Environment Officers, we will seek to promote and highlight the importance of the many environments that we all interact with. The urban environment takes centre stage in our ongoing Urban Spaces program (look out for events throughout the year). A more sustainable lifestyle will be promoted throughout Sustainability Week, including events such as the Ride to Law School Breakfast. We will seek to further the energy efficiency and waste disposal of the Law School. The hugely successful Comedy Debate will be back to lightheartedly discuss (and banter back and forth on) environmental issues.
Furthermore, there will be guest seminars to help show the growing and diverse career pathways available in the field of environmental law. University professors will outline the benefits of taking Environmental Law as an elective, whilst guest lecturers will be brought in to demonstrate how taking such courses can, and does, lead to fulfilling careers.
Finally, we remind you to get a free KeepCup from the university by signing up to the University's Sustainability Commitment - help make all those coffee cups you use become history! Follow this link: http://sustainablecampus.unimelb.edu.au/involvement/commitment.html.
