Law Students' Society

LSS Work Experience Program

The Melbourne University Law Students' Society Work Experience Program offers students from second year and above the opportunity to experience life as a legal professional. The program aims to provide students with the knowledge necessary for them to determine whether they wish to pursue a career in the legal industry.

As part of its services to students, the LSS offers its members the opportunity to spend one or two weeks with a participating firm working in a legal environment. Students will be randomly allocated to spend their placement in law firms, courts, community legal centres or with barristers. Preference will be given to students who are in their third or penultimate year and have applied for a seasonal clerkship. Students who are available during the whole period will also be given strong preference.

If you have any queries about the work experience program, please do not hesitate to email (lss-careersofficer@unimelb.edu.au) or come in person to the LSS office on Level 2 of the law school.
