Lawyers for the Arabunna Marree People

Lawyers for the Arabunna Maree People (LAMP), a coalition of solicitors and barristers, is offering a 50% grant for law students to attend a life-changing Easter trip to Indigenous lands in outback South Australia accompanying LAMP lawyers on a fact-finding mission. This is a rare opportunity to actually get 'on country', led by an Indigenous elder of the Arabunna-Maree people and get face-to-face with the issues we can usually only hear about in Native Title and Human Rights lectures.
Due to a last-minute funding boost, LAMP is now offering to cover half the normal trip price of $1,695 from Adelaide (students will need to make their own way to and from Adelaide).

Baker & McKenzie BBQ

Your final chance to grab some FREE sausages and beer with your fellow law students before everyone goes into hiding for exams. Also featuring complimentary sunshine and the House of Chords performing live. Do it.

House of Chords performing live at Thursday's BBQ

A hype fraught with uncertainty, it was never really clear whether or not the HOC would ever return to the stage.

After much ado, the LSS can officially announce that the House of Chords will indeed be performing live at Thursday's BBQ.

Is this a one time only affair? Or the first of a string of gigs? Perhaps these and many more questions will be answered on thursday.

Post-Exams Party

Having been spurned by fashionable venues such as PA's and the Tankerville on the basis that law students are not their desired clientele, we have been forced to slum it at Bimbo's for our end of exam drinks.* Our sincere apologies.

There will be all the essentials for an epic evening. For the ambitious, there will be a generous bar tab. For the more moderate, there will be a generous bar tab and Bimbo's famous pizzas to temper your pace.

Entry: $10
Time: 7pm
Address: 376 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy

ALSO, for those finishing exams on that day/who have nothing better to do, Trystan and Dave will be conducting a Magical Mystery Tour around some of Carlton's more notorious watering holes during the afternoon. Anything could happen after they leave the REB at 4.30pm...

* The Wood/Peckover combination claims some responsibility for this sad development.
