LSS Negotiation

Negotiation
2008 Coordinator – Alexis Fong

The Negotiation competition is a great opportunity for law students to demonstrate their negotiation and dispute resolution skills in a simulated competition environment. Students will compete in teams of two to negotiate a solution on behalf of their client’s interests to a hypothetical problem. On receiving the problem the day before the negotiation, preparation is necessary for teams to plan the approach and strategy that will be adopted. Judging the negotiations will normally be article clerks and solicitors from leading law firms in Melbourne.

The Negotiation competition is open to all law students and is run in the evening. First year teams or those competing for the first time, will be arranged to compete against other teams which are on a similar level, so there is no reason not to give it a go and experience what negotiations is all about!
