Reprieve Volunteer Talk – Monday 23 August, 1.00pm
Reprieve is an Australian non-government organisation that fights the death penalty. It seeks to provide effective legal representation and humanitarian assistance to those facing the death penalty, to advocate against the death penalty and to raise awareness about human rights. Reprieve conducts volunteer programs at home and abroad, including sending Australians to defend clients facing the death penalty.

Public Interest Law Fair 2010
The Law School Careers Office is excited to announce that this year it will be holding the second Melbourne Law School Public Interest Law Fair.

Melbourne Law School graduate Professor Philip Alston is recognised as one of the world’s leading scholars and advocates of international human rights law. He has taught at the Australian National University, Harvard University, the European University Institute and New York University. He has edited over 30 books, written 150 articles and was editor in chief of the prestigious European Journal of International Law from 1996-2007.

ALSA Conference 2010
What is ALSA Conference?
The Australian Law Students’ Association annual Conference has been touted as ‘the most fun a law student can possibly have during their university life’. ALSA Conference 2010 in Adelaide and it is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet. It will take place on 12-18 July. The Conference will see over 500 law students converge to attend the biggest social events, most prestigious competitions, and most stimulating educational forums. Delegates will attend the Opening Gala Dinner, Cocktail Night, Themed Night, and Closing Gala Dinner as well as a battle of the bands, movie nights, quiz nights, wine tours, brewery tours, the Amazing Race Adelaide. We will also have educational forums on pressing legal issues - animal law, global poverty, refugee law and responding to international conflict.
