Law Revue 2011
What the!? What is this “Law Revue” you speak of?
The Melbourne University Law Revue is an annual sketch show extravaganza that showcases the best in student comedy talent. Each year a collection of dynamic students come together to create the most outrageous skits, twisted political parodies, screwball slapstick comedy, pop culture lampooning, an array of song and dance numbers, and the occasional incendiary impersonation, brought to you live over several nights of performances. It’s a great night out full of laughs, fun, drinks, as well as some sweet tunes – what’s not to love?
So what are all these shenanigans for?
Law Revue is one of the most prominent and proud features of the cultural life of the Melbourne Law School. Whilst we aim to make people laugh until their cheeks hurt, we also have an ulterior motive – all proceeds from Law Revue will be donated directly to charity. It’s almost Laugh-Aid. Com-aid-y, if you will (we promise the shows will be wittier than this). It's entertainment digging deep to raise funds and awareness for a charitable cause.
This year, all proceeds will be donated to Frontyard Youth Services, a collection of services working to address the physical, emotional, and social needs of young people aged up to 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It's a brilliant charity, so come along and lend your support, and get excited, because we certainly are!
When shall these shenanigans occur?
And what are YOU going to do about it?
Well, you're going to buy tickets of course, and bring all ya mates! Keep your eyes peeled for details on how to book your tickets, but we'll also be harassing all of your senses, so you'd have to be wagging class to miss all the fuss, slackers.
