President’s welcome

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society website. This website should be your first port of call for all things LSS. It will be updated regularly with information about LSS initiatives in the areas of social activities, careers, competitions, education, equality and more.

In 2011, the LSS will be focused on engaging with you, the students, to provide you with the most relevant and beneficial services possible. Whether you need help with your studies (see the Student Tutorial Service), assistance in applying for clerkships (see the Seasonal Clerkship Guide) or just a snag and a chat on the lawns of University Square (see our weekly BBQs) the LSS is here to ensure that you get the most out of your time at Melbourne Law School.

The LSS seeks to be as accessible to the student body as possible. So please feel free to come to the LSS office at any time to have a chat. Alternatively you could just come and enjoy a cup of tea while trying your hand at Cranium or chess. The office is situated on level 2 – turn right out of the elevator and to the right of room 222.

I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities and support that the LSS will offer in 2011. We really look forward to your engagement in our initiatives throughout the year. I would also love to hear your feedback, so we can make the LSS as relevant and beneficial for all law students as possible. Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions at lss-president@unimelb.edu.au.
