‘Barbecues every week’: an explanation

In last year’s LSS general election I promised that the LSS would run a barbecue every week. Although this occurred in the first three weeks of semester one this year we have not had another barbecue since.

This is due to substantial bureaucratic hurdles the LSS is now required to clear in order to hold any event, a process that includes the obtaining of prohibitively expensive permits. Although this system is not something the LSS controls, we are currently in the process of overcoming these obstacles and hope to ensure LSS barbecues make a return in the very near future.

I personally apologise for this and can assure you that everything in our power is being done to try to bring the much-loved LSS barbecues back to University Square!
