Julian Burnside QC is a prominent barrister and a refugee advocate with years of experience in the field of human rights.
Pamela Curr works as a Campaign Coordinator at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and is a strong activist for the humane treatment of asylum seekers when they arrive to Australia.
Waleed Mussa is a refugee representative and campaigner from R.I.S.E (Refugees, Survivors and Ex-Detainees), which is a not-for-profit organisation run for and by recently settled refugees in Melbourne.
The above guest speakers will explore the challenges asylum seekers face in Australia and discuss the legal, moral and political aspects of Australia’s refugee policies.
