LexisNexis & Sir Harry Gibbs Moot
This year the Sir Harry Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot competition will be held from Thursday 29 September - Sunday 2 October. The Grand Final will be held in the High Court of Australia, with the Hon Chief Justice French sitting on the Bench. In addition to the moot competition itself, there will also be social events run over the course of the four days.
Registration
Registration will open on Wednesday 20 July at 9am, and will close at 5pm on Friday 7 August. Registration will be $900 per team. This registration cost includes accommodation, as well as most meals and entry to all social events.
Teams
Teams can be made up of either two or three members. All Australian and New Zealand universities can register up to two teams each.
Competition Structure
The competiton will have three preliminary rounds, with the first being held on Thursday and the latter two being held on the Friday. In light of the fact that the competion has grown substantially over the past few years, this year's competition will include an optional quarter final round. The inclusion of this round will depend on the number of teams who enter the competition.
Question
There will be one question used for the entire competition.
Submissions
This year the structure for written submissions will be different to previous years. Submissions for all rounds will be due on Monday 26 September at 5pm.
